The World Bank will co-host a presentation of a new publication entitled "Weather and Climate Resilience: Effective Preparedness through National Meteorological and Hydrological Services" with the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).

This book looks at the growing risks of weather and climate disasters to economic and social development, and urges the global community to act quickly to strengthen National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs). Such strengthening, as report argues, should be done in a way that transforms agencies—especially in the developing world—into robust professional agencies capable of delivering the right information to the right people at the right time.
