International expert consultation on gender in agriculture

The expert consultation is a follow-up to the recently published "Gender in Agriculture Sourcebook", jointly produced by the three organizations.

The expert consultation will use the Sourcebook messages and reccomandations as a starting point for the discussion and debate on a strategic plan of action to move ahead with the agenda of gender equality and women empowerment's in the agriculture sector. The discussion and plan of action will be framed around the following key development challenges:

- climate change
- disaster and post-conflict
- pressures on land and water use
- food fuel and financial crises
- opportunities for economic service provision
- private sector engagement
