An International Climate and Society Conference will be held in Thimphu, Bhutan at the Nazhoen Pelri Complex on 11th November 2011. This Conference is being organized by the Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment , Lamai Goempa, Bumthang and the Earth Institute of Columbia University in the City of New York, USA.

The conference is organized to provide a lead-up platform for the Climate Summit for "A Living Himalayas - Bhutan 2011" to be convened on the 19th of November 2011.

A series of invited talks will be presented by a group of international experts on climate change over the Himalayas, its various impacts on human and natural systems there, and strategies on how to deal with these impacts in the future.
