Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean technical advisory committee meeting on the economic and social impacts of climate change in the Caribbean
This meeting will bring together technical experts together with Government representatives of the 16 countries within CARIFORUM, including Cuba in the field of climate change and will provide a forum in which international consultants who have been recruited to conduct assessments of the economic and social impacts of climate change on the agriculture, coastal and marine, energy, health, tourism and water sectors in the Caribbean will present their results.
It is expected that discussions will focus on the relevance of the proposed adaptation and mitigation strategies on policy implementation in the Caribbean subregion. This meeting is being convened under the Project entitled: Development of economic frameworks in support of an assessment of the economic and social impacts of climate change in the Caribbean", that is funded by the Australian Agency for Development.
