About
This year’s Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30) comes at a pivotal time for global climate action. On the one hand, in the first six months of 2025 alone, economic losses caused by extreme weather events reached USD 143 billion. As the frequency and intensity of climate hazards continue to increase, threatening to disrupt business operations and value chains, the need for a dramatic growth in investments in adaptation and resilience is expected to emerge as one of the central themes of COP30. At the same time, the ongoing political uncertainty resulting from the combination of accelerating decarbonization in some countries and policy backlash in many others will likely loom large over the negotiations, posing significant challenges for future corporate strategies and investment decisions.
In this seminar, KPMG and Zurich Resilience Solutions will reflect on the main outcomes of COP30 and their implications for Swedish businesses, with a focus on how companies can continue to create value and build resilient supply chains in such a “changing climate”. The seminar will also put a spotlight on how climate-related hazards are already affecting corporates in the Nordic region, and explore how the integration of climate risk analysis into business strategy and governance can help manage risks and capitalize on opportunities.
