Established in 2008, the Disaster and Development organization (DADO) is an independent, non-profit and specializes in policy analysis, action research and project implementation for disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, public health, business continuity management and sustainable development at local, national, regional and global levels. DADO is looking for an intern to support with grant writing.

This position will be remotely based, as an honorary intern with a Fixed Term Contract of six (6) months, renewable for longer term based on both performance and mutual agreement. The position is open to candidates from any countries.

Objective of this position

DADO seeks enthusiastic graduate who would like to develop career in disaster and development sectors. The candidate will have an in-depth understanding of establishing charitable sector and has ambitious to progress independently to the sector globally.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop research and development grants to be submitted to funding organizations
  • Develop collaboration and partnership between philanthropists, civil society, social media groups, non-governmental organization (NGOs), International non-governmental organization (INGOs), development partners, United Nations agencies, public and private sectors for the well-being of the society.
  • Take all the initiatives to conduct research relating to disasters and sustainable development.
  • Take proactive measures to prevent avoidable deaths which are arising
  • Undertake capacity development initiatives for students, youth, professional and community
  • Launch awareness generation program to response to the early warning among the disaster affected community.
  • Assist in developing and sustenance of green economy and clean technology
  • Take initiative to develop a team of young scholars who could be able to grasp academic knowledge, policy documents and take initiative which would be implemented with adopting participatory approaches.

Qualifications

Education criteria

  • A graduate level degree

Experience criteria

  • Result-oriented and highly aspirant in developing career in research and development sectors
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English
  • Able to maintain personal expenses to achieved targeted research output
  • Previous experience in grant writing will get advantage
