European Development Days: What a changing climate means for human mobility in the Pacific: Evidence of risks and emerging practices
Climate change is influencing human mobility globally. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the Pacific, where the long-term effects of sea-level rise and unpredictable weather patterns threaten the livelihoods and culture of Pacific Islanders. In this session, local leaders and global experts will provide insights into how human mobility is being impacted by climate change in the region.
Building on these realties, the session identify knowledge and evidence needs, as well as opportunities to strengthen the collation and analysis of displacement data and risks, build robust governance frameworks, and fortify operational capacities. Insights will be shared by the Pacific Resilience Partnership Technical Working Group on Human Mobility, PRDD project, and MMICD project.
