Tetra Tech ARD (http://www.ardinc.com) is accepting expressions of interest from qualified senior level candidates for leadership of a USAID funded BIO-REDD+ program in Colombia. The program is intended to reinforce Colombian efforts to sustainably manage and utilize environmental assets in mitigating and adapting to climate change, preserving biodiversity and promoting economic growth. This position will provide long-term technical and managerial direction/oversight to the project throughout the three year implementation period.
Responsibilities:
The Chief of Party is a full time position with the authority and responsibility to administer and manage this project. Project responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
* Overall responsibility for program implementation, including preparation of work plans and annual/quarterly reports.
* Ensure quality control and timeliness of all project deliverables;
* Serve as primary point of contact between Tetra Tech ARD and USAID;
* Serve as principal liaison with local institutions, donors and other host country entities;
* Coordinate closely with USAID in developing and implementing the project’s overall strategy;
* Provide expert technical oversight and guidance in all aspects of program implementation.
Qualifications:
Must have minimum 10 years of technical experience in a combination of the following areas: biodiversity, carbon reduction, natural resource management, ecosystem services, economic growth and livelihoods initiatives.
* Previous climate change adaptation experience desired.
* Previous Chief of Party experience required, preferably on USAID funded projects.
* Strong problem-solving and consensus building skills;
* Spanish fluency strongly desired.
* Advanced degree in biodiversity/natural resource management, or related field, a plus;
