Strategies and on the ground options for climate change adaptation and disaster risk management in the Pacific
This paper addresses how small island developing states (SIDS) in the Pacific region have ongoing projects with targets to implement adaptation measures to increase resilience to the impacts of climate change and to mainstream disaster risk reduction (DRR) initiatives in communities. Projects discussed: (i) the Pacific Islands Climate Change Assistance Programme (PICCAP); (ii) the Capacity Building for the Development of Adaptation Measures in Pacific Island Countries (CBDAMPIC); (iii) the Pacific Adaptation to Climate Change (PACC) project; and (iv) the Pacific DRR and Disaster Risk Management Partnership Network.
