India: 'For 3 years, 100% of disaster reduction funds lay unspent'

At a time when Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) has become a key policy initiative worldwide in ensuring that there is better preparedness in dealing with calamities, India is still seriously lagging behind. Nearly 100% of the funds meant for modernization of weather forecast, ocean movement and prediction of other natural disasters have remained unutilized.
