The Thai irrigation department on Thursday said that the country will experience its worst drought in more than a decade this year, reports Reuters.

According to the article, this will damage crops in one of the world's biggest rice-exporting nations. Thailand has been battling drought in eight of its 76 provinces, but 31 other provinces have remained at risk according to the Interior Ministry. As part of its disaster risk management, the government has allocated around $208.65 million to alleviate drought, up from $13.19 million last year.
