Livelihoods under stress: critical assets and mobility outcomes in the Mekong Delta, Viet Nam

Source(s):  International Organization for Migration (IOM)

This first edition of the policy brief series examines relocation programmes undertaken due to heavy seasonal floods in the Mekong Delta of Viet Nam. Based on the author’s own empirical research in two rural communes in upstream areas of the Mekong Delta, this edition discusses the key household assets that determine the household vulnerability, livelihood outcomes and mobility decision-making in conditions of environmental stress.

Environment Migration Portal, Migration, Environment and Climate Change: Policy Brief Series, Issue 1, Vol. 1, December 2014. This document is part of the "Migration, Environment and Climate Change: Policy Brief Series" of the International Organization for Migration.
