Towards a green economy: pathways to sustainable development and poverty eradication
This report demonstrates that a transition to a green economy also addresses the important challenges of finding ways to protect global ecosystems, reduce climate-driven risks posed by rising sea levels, extreme coastal flooding events, coastal erosion and more frequent storms, improve energy security, and simultaneously improve the livelihoods of the poor, especially for developing countries. The report also seeks to motivate policy makers to create the enabling conditions for increased investments in a transition to a green economy.
