France: Stratégie nationale d’adaptation au changement climatique 2007
The national adaptation strategy expresses the State's point of view on how to address the issue of adaptation to climate change.
Four main goals are identified in this approach to climate change:
- Public safety and health;
- Social aspects: inequalities in the face of risk;
- Limit costs, leverage benefits;
- Preserve natural heritage.
Some avenues of action are proposed, as prerequisites for the future development of a national adaptation plan, which will outline a set of precise measures to be taken at the different decision-making levels.
