Laos: Strategic Plan on Disaster Risk Management 2021

This National Strategy on Disaster Risk Reduction (NSDRR) had been researched and developed through nation-wide consultations, and has applied international principles on disaster risk reduction (DRR), particularly the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030.

The NSDRR consists of a vision and goals for 2030, seven key strategies and twelve objectives. Each of these objectives also sets out the priority focus areas for implementation from 2021-2030. This NSDRR illustrates the efforts, commitments and responsibilities of the Government of Lao PDR in connection with the regional and international levels, especially cooperation with international organizations and development partners, to enhance the roles and obligation to continue cooperation in implementing disaster management and disaster risk reduction in Lao PDR and to integrate with regional and international policies, strategies and conventions progressively and effectively in the future.
