The Voluntary National Report of Lao People’s Democratic Republic for the Midterm Review of the Implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 (MTR SF).
This National Strategy on Disaster Risk Reduction (NSDRR) has been researched and developed through nation-wide consultations, and has applied international principles on disaster risk reduction (DRR), particularly the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030.
This National Strategy on Disaster Risk Reduction (NSDRR) consists of a vision and goals for 2030, seven key strategies and twelve objectives. Each of these objectives also sets out the priority focus areas for implementation from 2021-2030.
With this new submission, the Government of Lao PDR intends to report on the progress of the country’s contribution to the objectives of the Paris Agreement, and to bring forward enhanced action to strengthen Lao PDR’s response to climate threats.

The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
