Risk assessment of technological accidents under future extreme climate events: Natech accident response strategies
This case study analyzed global Natech accidents incidents using data from the European Major Accident Hazard Bureau and OECD databases. Tools such as RAPID-N and ARIPAR were applied to assess risks and simulate potential disaster scenarios. Scenario analysis further evaluated the preparedness and response strategies of industrial sectors.
Industrial facilities in high-risk zones, particularly in industrial are as those with aging infrastructure or insufficient disaster preparedness. This paper conducts an in-depth analysis of the risk assessment frameworks and methodologies applied to , were found to be highly vulnerable to Natech incidents. It highlights the importance of integrated risk management and RAPID -N and ARIPAR proved effective in identifying and mapping risks, yet their use remains limited in developing regions due to resource constraints. Cross-sector collaboration. Additionally, strategies for improving disaster resilience and the and proactive measures, including retrofitting infrastructure, were identified as critical strategies for reducing vulnerabilities and enhancing response capabilities. This study highlights the value of comprehensive frameworks and advanced tools to enhance preparedness of industrial sectors in responding to Natech accidents are explored. By focusing on current best practices and identifying gaps in existing frameworks, this study aims to provide actionable recommendations for enhancing global Natech accident response capabilities and resilience against Natech incidents globally.
