Extreme flood return levels in a U.S. mid-Atlantic estuary using 40-year fluvial-coastal model simulations
This paper aims to evaluate long-term fluvial and coastal flooding dynamics in the Delaware Bay and River estuarine system by employing a high-resolution, integrated watershed-coastal modeling framework over the historical period from 1980 to 2019.
The assessment of spatial-varying extreme values revealed how different flood-generation mechanisms can dominate various zones in the estuary.
