Education in National Adaptation Plan processes

This report analyzes the inclusion of the education sector, and children and youth, in National Adaptation Plan (NAP) processes based on an analysis of 62 multisectoral documents submitted to the UNFCCC as of June 30, 2025. It also features case studies of country experiences and provides recommendations for improving the integration of the education sector into NAP processes.

There has been limited examination of how the education sector is included in NAP processes, and this report seeks to fill this gap. It focuses on the education sector as it relates to children and youth, including pre-primary, primary, and secondary education, as well as non-formal education for children and youth.
