1st World congress on cities and adaptation to climate change: congress summary

This document is a copy of the summary of the deliberations presented at the final plenary of the congress. It summarises the debates on several issues such as (i) defining climate change adaptation and (ii) climate vulnerability; and addresses climate change adaptation and mitigation in relation to: (iii) sovereignty and multilateral financing, (iv) cities and nations wealth, (v) local governments statutes and quality of life, (vi) land use planning, (vii) quality of the regulatory environment for urban life, and (viii) local financing.
