University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR)
Mission
University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR) shares science-based information and practices with the aim to improve lives and livelihoods. Alongside UC Cooperative Extension (UCCE) offices that serve all 58 counties, UC ANR manages nine Research and Extension Centers (RECs) that provide shared spaces for research and community engagement.
The mission of UC ANR is to cultivate thriving communities, sustainable agriculture, resilient ecosystems and economic prosperity in California through development and sharing of equitable and collaborative science-based solutions that have national and global impact. Thus, UC ANR works to serve as UC’s community ambassador across California, delivering research and education programs beyond the campuses.
Voluntary Commitments
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
