After the fire: Understanding challenges to post-fire recovery in California
- English
About
Californians who have experienced wildfire can face major hurdles during the recovery process, including identifying and repairing damaged infrastructure, testing for near-home environmental contamination, and navigating evolving regulations and building codes. Often times, people feel overwhelmed and are unsure of what to do next. If you are looking for information and resources around wildfire recovery, join the UC ANR Fire Network and our partners to learn about ongoing research efforts related to wildfire impacts on rural and urban communities. This webinar is intended for all California homeowners, residents, resource professionals, and other interested community members.
Researchers from the University of California and other institutions will share the latest research related to water resource contamination, soil contamination and remediation, backyard chicken and livestock safety, and rebuilding and structure loss. Learn from presenters how to protect yourselves, your households, and communities in a post-fire environment. Wildfire recovery does not happen overnight, but there are many organizations and community members committed to helping residents achieve their goals of rebuilding, rehabilitation, and re-vegetation.
