Mission
SERC works to advance inclusive development in Nepal through GEDSI-focused research, policy analysis, and capacity building. The organization applies an intersectional approach integrating disability, gender, and social identity to help government, UN, and civil society partners design more inclusive and resilient development and disaster risk reduction programming.
SERC conducts GEDSI-focused needs assessments, research, and social audits in disaster-prone communities across Nepal, identifying the differentiated risks faced by women, persons with disabilities, children, and older persons. The organization supports inclusive early warning, shelter, and evacuation planning, and provides GEDSI capacity building to government, humanitarian, and community partners working on disaster risk reduction and climate resilience.

Voluntary Commitments
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
