Mission
Section 10 of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act, 2074 provides for the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority. The authority was established on 29/07/2076 with the appointment of the executive head. This authority acts as a central resource body related to disaster risk reduction and management. Currently, its office is located in Singha Darbar, Kathmandu, the authority's work, duties and powers are as follows.
Voluntary Commitments
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
