Background
The National Drought Management Authority (NDMA) is implementing the Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation(DRR/CC) component of the Kenya Devolution Support Project supported by UNDP.
The aim of this cultural festival is to raise awareness of IGAD cross-border efforts to reduce climate related disaster risks in the region, and to collect feedback on activities in the cluster.
This KCSAIF, hereinafter referred to as “the Framework”, has been developed to set guidelines for implementing Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) approaches, strategies, practices and technologies in Kenya.
This Thematic Plan for Climate Change is included in the various instruments to guide the transition towards sustainable development of the country, under the provisions of the Kenya Vision 2030.
The aim of the disaster risk management (DRM) policy is to “Build a safe and disaster-resilient nation through establishment of a robust Disaster Risk Management system that contributes to and protects the achievements of Kenya’s national development”.
The broad objective of the Kenya CSA Strategy (KCSAS) is to adapt to climate change, build resilience of agricultural systems while minimizing emissions for enhanced food and nutritional security and improved livelihoods.
This study aims to assess the impact of a sensitization and training programme for journalists on the quantity and quality of reporting of climate change related disasters on different media platforms in Kenya.
This document presents the Kenya Country Programming Framework for ending recurrent drought emergencies in Kenya.
Voluntary Commitments
The organization has no registered commitments.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
