Journal of Hazard Literacy
Mission
Journal of Hazard Literacy is a multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed platform dedicated to advancing the understanding, management, and education of diverse hazards. These hazards include, but are not limited to, natural disasters, industrial accidents, anthropogenic threats, and other risks that impact human and environmental well-being. By embracing a broad spectrum of challenges, the journal transcends traditional disciplinary boundaries, integrating research from natural sciences, social sciences, engineering, and education to foster a holistic approach to hazard studies. It emphasizes the critical role of hazard literacy in effective hazard mitigation, risk reduction, and the cultivation of a resilient society.
The journal focuses on publishing cutting-edge research that examines the scientific understanding of hazards, alongside the dynamic interactions among environmental, technological, and social systems. Through this integrative perspective, Journal of Hazard Literacy seeks to equip communities, policymakers, and institutions with the knowledge necessary to address both immediate and long-term hazard challenges.
Voluntary Commitments
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
