The JpGU, or Japan Geoscience Union, is a public interest incorporated association as defined under the Japanese law. JpGU is academic union that covers all the disciplines of Earth and planetary sciences and related fields. Our members are individuals who are researchers, engineers, educators, science communicators, students and the general public with interests in the science and academic societies concerned with the full range of subjects covered by Earth and planetary sciences.
JpGU represents the Japanese community of Earth and planetary scientists, promote the science, provide a platform for communications among the members, coordinate internationally, and reach out to the public; thus contributing to the advancement and dissemination of Earth and planetary sciences. JpGU supports international discussion and exchange that contributes to driving the boundaries of our science and understanding further forward and stimulate moving forwards the leading of science and will help invigorate the global Earth and planetary science community. We firmly believe that the advancement of our science will contribute to the good well-being of the human race.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
