The first edition of the IOE Graduate Conference was conceptualized and made its way in the year 2013 with a noble aim of providing an accessible platform for graduate students to bring forward their research works to a larger audience and establish a culture of paper presentation and publication. From the very first beginning, there has been a good number of participation from graduate students of IOE as well as other universities along with international participants. Following the success of the first event, IOE has been organizing the conference every year with a growing number of participation every year. To accommodate an overwhelming number of participations, starting from the year 2019, the conference is now held twice a year. With the intent of sharing the ownership, the event is now hosted in a round-robin fashion by different constituent campuses of IOE.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
