International Fund for Public Interest Media (IFPIM)
Mission
The International Fund provides direct grants to media outlets and develops strategic partnerships to develop new solutions and create lasting change to support public interest media where the need is greatest.
The International Fund has a unique governance model that comprises two bodies: a Board of independent experts and a Council of governments and private sector actors.
This model allows the International Fund – as an international organization and multistakeholder fund – to retain the independence and flexibility required in order to effectively and transparently finance independent media while developing sustainable long-term solutions to the grave threats those media face.
Voluntary Commitments
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
