Mission
The 'From Fukushima to the World' project aims to convey the lessons of the Fukushima nuclear disaster to the world, from the perspective of civil society. This project has the support of the Japan CSO Coalition for 2015 WCDRR (JCC2015). A group of civil society groups have cooperated to create the '10 Lessons from Fukushima' booklet which will be launched in March 2015 to coincide with the 3rd UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction in Sendai – a forum attended by a range of specialists in disaster risk reduction.
Voluntary Commitments
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
