ccCSR’s research will be based on the six pillars of the Bangladesh Climate Change Action Plan: Food security, social protection and health; Comprehensive disaster management; Infrastructure development; Research and knowledge management; mitigation and low carbon development; capacity building and institutional strengthening. In the long run the center will benefit the nation in the climate change adaptation and sustainability. It will conduct the research that benefits the nation like assessing the stakes for Bangladesh in climate change and climate negotiations. The Center will integrate the center’s activities with the university’s academic program which will certainly benefit the university in the development of its UG and PG program under which Masters and Ph.D. degree will be offered from the research outcome of the center by integrating the PG fellows with research activity of the center.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
