Mission
The Caribbean Broadcasting Union is a grouping of public and independent media houses – radio, television, print and digital – as well as regulators, media education institutions and independent producers in countries and territories in the Dutch, English, French and Spanish Caribbean.
Established in 1970, the CBU’s mandate includes capacity-building and training, content sharing of both live and pre-produced programming, media sector advocacy and support as well as promotion of communication and information rights.
Voluntary Commitments
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
