Indonesia’s House of Resilience offers a glimpse of its best DRR practices

Coordinating Minister of the Ministry for Human Development and Culture, Muhadjir Effendy, and Head of BNPB, Major General TNI Suharyanto have inaugurated the 'Rumah Resiliensi Indonesia' at the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GPDRR) 2022 in Nusa Dua, Bali, Monday (23/5/2022).

Badung – Indonesia’s House of Resilience (RRI), a gallery of the country’s best disaster risk reduction practices, will take place during the 7th Session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GP2022). 

Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs, Mr. Muhajir Effendi stated that every past disaster has made our social capital stronger. 

"Our experience may also offer other countries valuable references,” Mr. Muhadjir asserted on Monday (23/5), during the inauguration of RRI at the Bali Collection, Nusa Dua. 

Along with Mr. Muhadjir, the Head of BNPB and Deputy Chairperson of the GP2022 National Hosting Committee Lt. Gen. Suharyanto, Deputy Governor of Bali Tjokorda Oka Artha Sukawati, BNPB Primary Secretary Lilik Kurniawan, and international representatives also joined the inauguration.

In his brief remark, Mr. Tjokorda applauded BNPB for launching RRI in Bali. This is a testament of our commitment in making a safe and secure tourist destination.  

“I would like to thank BNPB for launching the Indonesia’s House of Resilience (RRI) in Bali. The event substantiates our longstanding commitment to disaster management while continuously promoting tourism. Let’s share our best disaster management practices with the world.” Mr. Tjokorda said. 

RRI is jointly organized by Indonesia’s National Disaster Management Authority (BNPB), Bali’s disaster risk reduction forum, private sectors, academic institutions, and civil society organizations. It is scheduled to take place from 23 May to 28 May 2022, at the Bali Collection. RRI will home exhibition of products from small business and disaster technologies. No special ID card is required to enter the venue.
