"To ensure responsible rebuilding, the River Parishes Recovery Alliance, an alliance of three local disaster recovery organizations will work with homeowners to obtain flood insurance to guard against future disasters," reports PRWeb. It is estimated that less than half the 7,000 flooded homes in the River parishes had flood insurance at the time when hurricane Isaac hit the New Orleans area this year. The alliance will also coordinate to raise funds to repair the damage caused by the hurricane.
