United Arab Emirates: UNISDR Chief visits Dubai to discuss disaster reduction plans

Ms. Helena Molin Valdes, Director of the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNISDR) visited Dubai to explore opportunities on how Dubai could participate and support program of the UNISDR, the UN system for the coordination of disaster reduction activities, reports AME Info. In her meeting with Eng. Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality, she encouraged the Municipality to be a role model in disaster reduction by sharing its experience and accomplishments with other cities.
