UN highlights importance of risk reduction

Speaking at the fourth session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction in Geneva, Switzerland on May 21, deputy secretary general Jan Eliasson said: "We need to really invest in disaster risk reduction. It does pay off. By investing in disaster risk reduction, we are actually laying the groundwork for development.”
