Showcasing innovation: Media and communication for disaster risk reduction

Have you used media or communication to help communities at risk become more aware of disaster risks and build their resilience? If so, the organizers want to hear from you as this event aims to showcase creative and effective approaches of media and communication. The event will take place at the Third UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction in Sendai, Japan on 16 March, 2015.

The organizers are interested in receiving examples that are:

  • Innovative
  • Have reduced disaster risk and improved resilience
  • Can be replicated by others as good practice
  • Are specifically targeted to people who are at risk of hazards
