Rep of Korea: UN opens disaster management training centre

Special Representative of the Secretary General for Disaster Risk Reduction, Margareta Wahlström, of the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNISDR) and Mr. Sang-gi PARK, Ambassador of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Korea in Geneva have signed an MoU to establish the UNISDR Regional Office for North-East Asia and a Training Centre for Disaster Management in Incheon, Republic of Korea.

The two offices will be located at the I-Tower at the Songdo international city in the Incheon Free Economic Zone. They will contribute to the development of the international cooperation system against climate change and training on disaster prevention technology based on information technology.
