Nicaragua, Russia sign agreement on cooperation for natural hazards

"The signed document will become a basis for the modernisation of structures of the national emergency response system,” said Russian Emergency Situations Minister, Sergei Shoigu at the meeting with Commander in Chief of the Nicaraguan Armed Forces, Omar Halleslevens last week.

The agreement concludes that Russia will provide assistance to Nicaragua to improve response efforts to natural hazards. In particular an exchange of scientific and technical information is envisaged.
