Open call for communities to share heat management practices by 18 September 2026
The Global Heat Health Information Network (GHHIN) Southeast Asia Hub, together with its partners – the Southeast Asia Cultural Heritage Alliance (SEACHA), Sunway Centre for Planetary Health (SCPH), and ASEAN Youth Organization (AYO) – invites community members, practitioners and knowledge-holders to come together and co-create a first-of-its-kind public repository of traditional and cultural heat management practices.
We are seeking contributions on traditional medicine, vernacular architecture, agricultural practices, clothing traditions, oral history, and other community-based knowledge related to heat prevention and management.
This initiative seeks to create a platform where such heritage can be shared and mapped on the communities’ own terms. It will explore how traditional wisdom, scientific evidence, and modern technologies can co-exist and complement one another. In doing so, the project seeks to broaden the range of heat management strategies available today and support more community-driven approaches to heat resilience and governance.
