PPI - Prepared international are now a GmbH

We are delighted to share an important milestone in Prepared International's (PPI) organisational journey: our legal transition from a UG (haftungsbeschränkt) to a GmbH. This change reflects our continued growth, strengthened operational foundation, and long-term commitment to delivering high‑quality, reliable, and impactful work.

This transition marks a significant step in our development, reinforcing our stability and enabling us to scale our activities with even greater confidence. It strengthens our ability to collaborate, innovate, and deliver value across all areas of our work.

Key highlights of this change include:

  • Enhanced organisational stability to support long-term planning
  • Greater operational flexibility for expanding our portfolio
  • A stronger foundation for partnerships, service delivery, and impact
  • Increased credibility within the German and international ecosystem

As we evolve structurally, our mission and values remain unchanged. PPI continues to:

  • Leverage expertise in disaster risk management (DRM), anticipatory action (AA), and capacity building to foster transformative, sustainable change.
  • Carry partnerships forward, turning ideas into concrete actions that strengthen preparedness, early warning, and resilience worldwide.
  • Lead and support projects across regions and sectors, including technical assistance in Albania, multi-hazard risk assessments in Europe, anticipatory action reviews in Central America and the Caribbean, and the establishment of regional DRM and climate change adaptation training centres.
  • Provide technical assistance and capacity building, including training on high-impact, low-probability events, Heat Health Action Plans, and emergency preparedness planning.
  • Collaborate actively in stress tests, workshops, and knowledge exchanges with leading institutions in resilience and DRM.
  • Develop frameworks and assessments, including child‑centred risk analyses, wildfire diagnostics, and multi-hazard methodologies.
  • Champion data governance as a foundation for effective disaster loss and damage tracking systems.
  • Learn and adapt, integrating insights from diverse systems such as EMS models to inform effective, cost‑efficient approaches.

This organisational upgrade strengthens our ability to continue this work with even greater impact and accountability.

We extend our appreciation to our partners, clients, and collaborators whose trust and engagement have supported our growth. This transition reinforces our commitment to working alongside you to build safer, more resilient communities worldwide.

Our evolution into a GmbH is a commitment to scaling our impact, deepening our partnerships, and continuing to deliver excellence in disaster risk reduction, preparedness, and resilience.
