Netherlands: Drones to be used in earthquake damage assessment

Source(s): NL Times

The Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij (NAM) will be using drones to assess the damage caused by earthquakes in Groningen, reports NL Times.

The drones will especially be used to assess the damage to high buildings, according to Sander van Rootselaar of NAM. This will enable them to assess damage even in high buildings, without which they would have to put up scaffolding around the buildings so that inspectors would be able get up high enough. This would not only be more expensive and a lot of work, but also less safe for the inspectors.
