Jamaica: ODPEM prepares youngsters for crisis

According to the Jamaican news agency, the Gleaner, approximately 500 youngsters have been trained in emergency management under the Preparedness and Emergency Response Corp (PERC) programme, since its inception in 2008.

"I feel that if a disaster should strike, I would be prepared because of Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management's workshop. It equipped me with enough information to go about and handle situations," said sixteen year old Tiwana James.
