Indonesia considers introducing disaster preparedness in schools

"We need schools to prepare the students to handle disasters", said Tito Setiawan, a spokesman for the Coordinating Ministry for People’s Welfare. "We are going to work on how we can make this is as a part of curricula and implement it effectively."

Government officials were planning to meet with the National Education Ministry and other stakeholders to discuss the proposal reports the Jakarta Globe.
