International Co-operation, Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response Commissioner Kristalina Georgieva and Deputy Minister of External Relations of Chile Fernando Schmidt will sign a Letter of Intent on 25 November to enhance their cooperation in disaster risk reduction, reports New Europe.

"The Commission and Chile already have excellent collaboration through the disaster preparedness programme (DIPECHO). However, the trend of growing disaster intensity and frequency proves the need for more intensive cooperation, as we are all vulnerable," Georgieva said ahead of the meeting.
