East Africa: Take weather alert seriously

Source(s): All Africa.com

The UN International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNISDR) said that long-term development plans for the Greater Horn of Africa should involve disaster risk reduction, reported All Africa.com. As drought is expected to impact crop production and food security, people should be prepared to harves and store rain to help them during dry spells.

Experts at the The 30th Greater Horn of Africa Climate Outlook Forum also warned that government departments involved in disaster preparedness should not treat the warning lightly.
