Call for a more effective disaster warning system

At the plenary session of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC 2012) Ministers Meeting (AMM) held in Vladivostok, Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman of Malaysia called for called for the setting up of a more effective early warning system to coordinate the management and prevention of disasters in the Asia Pacific Region, reports the New Strait Times. He appeals for the sharing of best practices and expertise of member countries in order to strengthen the emergency preparedness and disaster resilience in the region.
