Hazards and disaster researchers are invited to submit abstracts for the 2023 Researchers Meeting. This year’s meeting will focus on New Frontiers of Disaster Research: Action-Oriented Collaborations to Solve Complex Challenges.

The Organizing Committee seeks abstracts by Friday, March 31, 2023, in the following two categories:

  • General Submissions: These abstracts should summarize an ongoing or recently completed research project focused on any pressing topic in the field of hazards and disaster research.
  • Thematic Submissions: These abstracts should summarize research that involves partnerships with frontline communities to conduct interdisciplinary, convergent research that informs and supports action.

The 2023 Researchers Meeting will be held on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 12 and through the day on Thursday, July 13 following the 48th Annual Natural Hazards Research and Applications Workshop. We hope you will submit an abstract highlighting your current research and that you will plan to join us in July at the Omni Interlocken Hotel in Broomfield, Colorado.

The meeting is once again being hosted by the International Research Committee on Disasters (ISA-RC39), in partnership with the Natural Hazards Center and the NHERI-CONVERGE facility. We look forward to working together to advance hazards research and disaster science.

We are so grateful for your contributions and hope to see you in July!
