This preparedness plan provides a strategic framework that aligns planning, training, and exercise activities to enhance Maui County’s readiness for responding to, recovering from, and mitigating the impacts of identified threats and hazards.

The objective of this strategy is to strengthen Maui’s emergency management capabilities in response to growing risks and complexities, especially highlighted by the 2023 wildfires.

This document is the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government (LFUCG) Incident-Specific Plan (ISP) for an Extreme Heat Event.

The purpose of the Heat Plan is to offer guidance and resources for community members and visitors to the District, including those experiencing homelessness, to remain safe and cool during periods of extreme heat.

On June 20, 2024, the Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board approved California Code of Regulations, Title 8, section 3396, "Heat Illness Prevention in Indoor Places of Employment".

The Maryland Extreme Heat Emergency Plan, developed by the Maryland Department of Health (MDH), guides the state's actions during an Extreme Heat Event, as well as those of partner agencies and organizations, as defined below.

This Plan outlines how state agencies are preparing for another extreme heat event this year, and puts forth recommendations for how the state can prepare for future events.
