GIRD 2018 - Giornata Internazionale per la Riduzione dei Disastri
GIRD 2018 - Giornata Internazionale per la Riduzione dei Disastri is the biggest event on Disaster Risk Reduction in Italy. Organized by the Corpo Italiano di San Lazzaro the high level panel with be a meeting point for institutions, experts of the civil protection sector and citizens.
In the spirit of the United Nations' IDDR, the event GIRD 2018 will promote the dissemination of good practices and the implementation of a prevention culture and protection of fundamental rights, thus contributing to risk reduction.
GIRD 2018 aims to support the need for greater prevention and protection of the territory and its citizens, to inform about UN framework initiatives, and to lay the foundations for an ever closer collaboration at various levels of the problem of disasters.
Among others, the event has received the patronages of the following institutions: European Commission in Italy, Italian Space Agency, National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, Higher Institute for Environmental Protection, Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development.
The event is open to all.
